Moors Life

Moors likes to try out new and different ideas so if you have some, please run them by us.    We held our first fashion show in conjunction with local businesses in 2009  and raised over £2.5K for the Chicken Shed Theatre Company.   The autumn catwalk is again being prepared with an eye on sustainable fashion!

Keep an eye out for our next fundraising event and come along to raise money in a fun way for some very deserving charities!  Since opening we've raised funds for some great causes including Comic Relief, Willows Children with Cancer, The Queen Elisabeth Orphanage Grenada, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and  Hillcrest (children living with AIDS in South Africa).

In keeping with our film programme, Moors participated in the Crouch End Open Studios weekend in May with artists screening their short films over the weekend.

Moors plays host to pop-up theatre and provides  an intimate and flexible setting for innovative work.   Recent plays included  Two  by Jim Cartwright  and  a new play "Gang Initiation Clinic"  by Nadia Gasper.

Moors is a member of  The Crouch End Project.co.uk  which brings direct benefits to local consumers via The Crouch End Card.

Moors has signed up to 10:10 and is seeking to work with sustainable solutions in all its activities.  The collaboration with Green on the Screen, our eco film and food night is one example of how we wish to reflect on our activities and raise awareness amongst the Moors community of the environment challenges that lie ahead.
